The Gallivant

From comedy capers to gaming with a slice, here is our social checklist for the weeks ahead

Connor Burns

The critically-acclaimed Fringe comedian is back in March with his debut national tour and punchline-packed, caustic observations on relationships, the cost-of-living crisis and his aversion to drinking with millennials. Expect a wee bit of rudeness, a fascination with accents and a lot of hilarity.

Connor Burns performs ‘Vertigo’ at Edinburgh’s Lyceum on 9th March and at the Glasgow Comedy Festival from 21st to 24th March

A slice of the action

If Pac-Man plus Neapolitan-inspired pizza sounds like the delicious dream, then check out Pizza Geeks‘ Easter Road pop-up gone permanent. Originally planned as a temporary venue, the pizzeria’s latest venture will be its third site in Edinburgh, serving up freshly made slices with a side of retro gaming classics – from Mortal Kombat to Crazy Taxi. Expect ’80s nostalgia, blockbuster vibes and a nod to 80s-inspired shows like Stranger Things.

Textile treats

Andy Warhol: The Textiles at Edinburgh’s Dovecot Studios is a chance to see recently discovered works by the pop art movement pioneer. It’s Scotland’s first dedicated exhibition to Warhol’s textiles – which he created anonymously – so expect to see over 60 textile works, featuring fabric lengths, garments, prints, film and photography. The Dovecot Café has also been redesigned in honour of Warhol’s playful food designs for legendary New York café Serenditpity3.

Until 18th May
