Check out Pocket Styler – fans of fashion’s new must-have app
Always fancied your hand at styling in glamorous locations, but also quite fancy doing so from wherever you please – even if that’s sitting at home in comfy attire? This style savvy app from Nordcurrent is giving us vibes of Cher’s virtual outfit-matching wardrobe in Clueless – but with far more options (and not just restricted to the five items we *actually* wear in our own wardrobes).
The fashion-gaming hit of the moment, Pocket Styler has already amassed 17 million downloads since its initial launch, with fashion aficionados competing with other players worldwide to create unique looks in a fun game of trendsetting dress-up.
Bringing fashion and gaming into sartorial alignment, Pocket Styler aims to provide its players with a platform to experience high fashion and participate in events as part of New York City’s glamorous social scene.
“People may express themselves using Pocket Styler by transferring their particular tastes and preferences to the virtual version of themselves. Players may take their time developing a personal sense of style, which is difficult to achieve in real life as trends change and are phased out of stores rapidly,” says Victoria Trofimova, Nordcurrent Co-Founder & CEO.
Players are invited to personalise their avatar’s style and personal appearance with everything from hair colour and cut, to make-up items such as eyeshadow and lipstick. Players globally compete to style looks for specific locations and challenges in New York while also being able to join seasonal events and daily quests. The game has already worked with London Fashion week favourite David Koma for his SS23 resort collection and hopes to continue to build up its designer brand profile with additional collaborations.
