Eat, drink and dance at the capital’s hottest new restaurant
Delivering a feast of Israeli and Spanish fusion food from executive chef Fez Ozalgan, a vibrant drinks list, and DJs playing tunes every Friday and Saturday night, Penelope’s offers a fresh take on the conventional ‘dinner party’ concept.
Also launching this month are AMANO’s famous monthly Isramani parties, an immersive dining experience and sell-out event back in Berlin where AMANO Group is based. Guests are encouraged to have fun and embrace a “hands-in-the-air, dancing-on-the-table” freedom, while food is served throughout the evening on generous sharing plates, set against a backdrop of party beats. Upcoming Isramani party dates in 2022 are 17th December and 31st December and 28th January and 25th February in 2023.
Along with Restaurant Manager, Javier Cerezo, at the helm of Penelope’s dining experience is Turkish-Cypriot Executive Chef, Fez Ozalgan who brings years of expertise working at some of London’s leading restaurants, most notably Jamie Oliver’s famous fire cooking joint, Barbecoa. Inspired by her Turkish-Cypriot heritage and a passion for barbecue, Fez combines smoke and fire on the mangal and josper grills, using only the finest ingredients.
Diners can dive into bold tapas-style sharing plates full of flavour, from paella Israeli style with octopus, freekeh and gin-tomato-sauce to Israeli sofrito with pulled chicken and laffa bread, and tempura monkfish with Israeli couscous, wakame seaweed, and saffron. The star of the dessert menu is Penelope’s signature baklava cheesecake, closely followed by a rich chocolate tart, and a selection of seasonal fruits, sorbets and alfajores.
