Birds of a feather

The Rare Birds Book Club is off to a flying start with its first book launch event, hosted by founder Rachel Wood in collaboration with Sunday Times bestselling author Mhairi McFarlane, and taking place in Scotland’s capital.

The event celebrates the release of Don’t You Forget About Me – a funny and romantic take on first love. It has to start somewhere, and this particular tale of the heart began with four words: ‘I love your laugh x.’ Cue losing a job, infidelity, and a new boss with a connection to that fateful compliment from over a decade ago.

Championing women’s literature, Rare Birds was founded on the simple principle that books should be fun to read. The book club and subscription service cherrypicks interesting and pacy stories with gripping plotlines, top heroines and the occasional smouldering love interest.

Event takes place on Thursday 25th April at Custom Lane in Edinburgh, 6:30pm – 8:30pm, tickets are £6 and available at rare-birds-live.eventbrite.co.uk
