Bombshell blowouts

Volumising hair mist, £35, Larry King

Pump up the volume in every regard when it comes to your locks – we’re talking 80s va-va-voom, but perhaps without the gravity-defying perms. We know there’s a lot of expensive kit out there, but velcro rollers still do the job well, along with some supreme sprays and mists.

Winged eyeliner

‘The feline flick’ liquid eyeliner, £25, Charlotte Tilbury

You don’t have to go the full whack – and doing a perfect flick is still nigh on impossible in our experience – but having seen a few celebrities rocking it on the red carpet of late, we’ve felt inspired to get our inky pens out and give it a go. Top tip: prep your eyes with primer before you apply.

Neutral nails

‘Le Vernis’ nail polish, £29, Chanel

We can all agree that skillfully executed nail art looks the business, but… it’s also just a lot of effort. Kudos to our friend the nude, who kept it minimal throughout 2024 and will be continuing to grace our digits throughout 2025.

Cloud skin

Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream, £21, Look Fantastic

With our eyes ever-peeled on K-beauty for that next innovation, it seems the latest wave in makeup and skincare is rolling in as a dewy, soft cloud – essentially focusing in on products that nourish for proper hydration, as well as being lightweight and matte for a velvety finish.

Fragrance layering

Fragrance discovery set, £80, Miller Harris

It sounds a bit bonkers, but hear us out: this trend kicked in last year as a means of self-expression through scent, and also – we imagine – a way of wearing multiple scents when some of those perfume bottles seem to go on forever. There are no hard and fast rules, but generally the approach is – start with the boldest fragrance and layer lighter notes on top.

Multi-tasking miracles

OUAI Leave In Conditioner, £26, Sephora UK

About time! Instead of adding steps to our skincare routine, we’re all for products doing the legwork and increasing their efficacy. Think cleansers that also moonlight as skin masks, conditioners that offer heat protection, and serums that act as primers.
