Choose from Spanish flavours, rooftop views and brand-new menus

Seasonal hit
The famous views over the Old Course remain, but 18 at Rusacks St Andrews’ 2025 menus are new. The rooftop restaurant will serve up dishes spotlighting seasonal produce, including scallops with chilli butter; salt-aged duck and platters of fruits de mer in the warmer months, served over ice.

Strong return
The award-winning Ox & Finch is back after a six-month hiatus, much to the delight of Glasgow foodies. Sporting a fresh look and a glossy new frontage, the kitchen will be led by head chef Craig Nelson. The seasonally-driven menu features some signature classics, along with new additions such as whipped cod roe, furikake and endive, and apple tarte tatin with Fourme d’Ambert cheese.

Rioja
Flavour of Spain
Tis the season for a delicious comeback. Previously in Finnieston, Rioja has brought its Spanish menu – inspired by the food markets of Madrid – to Glasgow’s city centre. Expect Spanish tapas classics alongside Galician peppers; chorizo tacos; mini paellas and a selection of Rioja wines.

Layla in Edinburgh
Star quality
Kudos to the capital for recently elevating its culinary ranking. Two Edinburgh restaurants have been newly awarded a Michelin star – seafood-led fine dining restaurant, Lyla and Stockbridge-situated Avery, which has jumped the pond from San Francisco and quickly gained critical acclaim.

Valaria
Icing on the cake
Glasgow venue Valaria has launched a brand-new evening menu. Known for its patisserie treats, the eatery is under new ownership, and is now offering up small plates including nduja arancini; smoked tomato fondue and an array of ice creams, sorbets and signature crumbles.
