One of Edinburgh’s newest five-star hotels has won the prestigious award of ‘Scottish Hotel of the Year 2025’, beating five other nominees

Drumroll… Scotland’s hotel of the year for 2025 has been announced.  Alongside winning the top award at the The Scottish Hotels of the Year Awards, the W Edinburgh also took away ‘Lifestyle Luxury Hotel of the Year,’ ‘Cocktail Bar of the Year (Joao’s Place)’ and ‘Spa Treatments Award of the Year (AWAY Spa).’

Opening in late 2023, W Edinburgh is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s newest neighbourhood, the St James Quarter. The five-star hotel is a destination in itself, from the Ribbon building to the historic Georgian townhouse, James Craig Walk, featuring cutting-edge dining, innovative mixology, and wellness experiences.

The Scottish Hotels of the Year Awards celebrate excellence across the hospitality industry, recognising establishments that push boundaries and elevate guest experiences. The judges relayed that guests can “expect a fabulous, special VIP experience staying at W Edinburgh, from the moment you arrive in the reception lobby of the iconic, circular, copper clad Ribbon building”, praising the “charming professionalism” of the“welcoming and enthusiastic” team across the property.
