Easy Christmas whisky drinks to create at home
Stir, sip and celebrate with these festive drinks

When the nights draw in and the fairy lights come out, nothing warms a winter evening quite like a homemade festive drink. Christmas cocktails don’t need to be complicated or rely on ingredients you’ll never use again. With Scotland’s world-class whiskies leading the way, you can whip up something delicious, seasonal and a little bit special – and all from the comfort of your own kitchen.

This year, we’re shining a spotlight on three Scottish spirits perfect for Christmas entertaining: Eden Mill’s The Guard Bridge, Saltire Rare Malt’s limited-edition Christmas Edition (Tammavulin 17-Year-Old) and Tailored Spirits’ new Experimental Range – Experiment 3 “CLAW.” Whether you’re hosting the family, having the neighbours round or simply treating yourself, these simple serves will bring a little Highland cheer to any home.

A Sweet Seasonal Sipper: The Honey & Cranberry Highball
Featuring Eden Mill’s The Guard Bridge

If you’re looking for something light, refreshing and beautifully festive in colour, Eden Mill’s much-loved whisky makes the perfect base. The Guard Bridge is smooth, gently sweet and wonderfully versatile, ideal for a cocktail you can mix in under a minute.

Glass: Highball

Ingredients:

50ml The Guard Bridge
2 tsp honey
25ml cranberry juice
1 cranberry
Ice

Method:

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir well.

Pour into a highball filled with fresh ice and top with a cranberry.

It’s as simple as that. A wintery twist without any fuss. The honey softens the cranberry’s tartness, while the whisky adds depth and a comforting warmth. Perfect for Christmas Eve by the tree.

A Dram with Christmas Spirit: Saltire Rare Malt’s Tammavulin 17 Year Old

For whisky lovers, December is the ultimate excuse to bring out something truly special and Saltire Rare Malt’s Christmas Edition is exactly that. Independent bottler, Saltire Rare Malt, released a limited-edition 17-year-old Tammavulin as a Christmas special single malt whisky for the first time this year. Its warm, wintery character makes it the perfect, special bottle to crack open this year.

Expect notes of dried fruits, winter spices and a hint of toffee, the kind of flavours that feel made for cosy nights indoors. You don’t need to mix anything fancy here: this whisky is a Christmas moment all by itself.

Serve suggestion:

Pour 25–35ml into your favourite glass, add one large ice cube or enjoy neat. Pair with a slice of Dundee cake or a couple of buttery shortbread biscuits for a simple, luxurious treat.

Classic Christmas Comfort: Tailored Spirits Experiment 3 “Claw”

For something a little different, Tailored Spirits’ new experimental range brings innovation to festive flavours. Experiment 3 “CLAW” leans into everything we love about Christmas: soft sweetness and a traditional flavour profile that feels like stepping into a room filled with oranges, butter and oak spices.

It’s bold, comforting and surprisingly easy to enjoy. For a straightforward serve that’s big on flavour:

Hot Christmas Dram:

Add 35ml Experiment 3 to a heatproof glass, top with warm cloudy apple juice, and finish with a cinnamon stick. It’s winter in a mug, soothing, aromatic and perfect after a frosty family walk.
