Burns Night 2025: Where to celebrate this weekend

The Glasshouse hotel

The five-star Edinburgh venue is offering a special Burn’s Night menu in their award-winning Whisky Snug until 26th January. The menu includes smoked salmon with goat’s cheese, lemon mousse, beetroot carpaccio and salmon caviar; the classic haggis, neeps and tatties, and cranachan – along with whisky pairings. Six by Nico Aberdeen

There are two Burns Nights celebrations to book in for that are exclusive to Six by Nico Aberdeen – both are in collaboration with renowned Aberdeen distillery Glen Garioch. Enjoy ‘A Taste of Burns’ (£45pp) on Friday 24th January, with four Glen Garioch whisky-based cocktails and four Burns-themed snacks, while on Saturday 25th January diners can expect a 6-course Burns Supper tasting menu (£80pp), five Glen Garioch whisky and cocktail pairings, and a live traditional Scottish band.

Duck & Waffle 

The Edinburgh restaurant will honour Rabbie Burns with a chef-curated set menu for under £30 and elevated whisky cocktails that pay homage to Scotland’s rich cultural heritage. The affordable three-course set menu features options including truffled devilled duck eggs, Scottish salmon crudo, haggis croquettes, haggis, neeps and tatties and lemon posset and cardamom shortbread.

The Fife Arms

The luxury Braemar hotel will host a Burns Night Gala dinner, with guests invited to commemorate the life of Scotland’s most beloved bard on Saturday 25th January. From 6.45pm in the hotel lobby, guests can enjoy champagne and canapes, and the traditional meal in The Clunie Dining Room will include cullen skink, smoked haggis with neeps and tatties and to finish, a Fife Arms clootie dumpling. There will also be poetry readings, musical performances including a pipe band, an Address to the Haggis ceremony and a ceilidh to round off the night.

Linn House

From Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th January 2025, acclaimed Ecuadorian chef and Fire Made co-founder Ana Ortiz will use the magic of open–flame cooking to bring her smoky, soulful flavours to a bespoke Burns Night menu (£75), paired with cocktails and rare whiskies from Chivas Brothers’ whisky library. Guests can also extend their experience with an overnight stay at the Speyside-located Linn House if they fancy an escape for the weekend.
